Jon Bon Jovi has lowered the price of his $42m Manhattan mansion by $2.1m - but the 7,500 square foot property still costs an astonishing $39.9 million.

The New Jersey native bought the SoHo area penthouse in 2007 for $24m so if he gets near his asking price he will nearly double his investment. The breathtaking duplex has two levels and comes with five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms and two (yes two!) kitchens.Floor to ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the city, and 11-ft high ceilings make the place jaw-droppingly open and light.Wood-fire burning fireplaces add a homey feel to the spread which is decorated primarily in soft brown, beige and cream colors.Another major selling point is the large outdoor space. There are three big, landscaped terraces that total almost 3,100 square feet. One of the terraces is overflowing with plant life and at the center has an oversized Buddha statue. After the 51-year-old bought the property six years ago, he did some renovations like changing the master bedroom. He is selling the house completely furnished, including every chair and chandelier.'This one-of-a-kind apartment is for the discerning buyer who can appreciate fine craftsmanship and all of the modern conveniences,' it says in the listing for the apartment. The property, which is located between Prince and Houston streets, sits on the top floor of the New Museum’s 158 Mercer St. building. This isn't the first time the Bon Jovi singer has listed the apartment. In 2010 he reportedly placed it on the market for $45m but then pulled the listing. This isn't the only property owned by the singer, born John Francis Bongiovi Jr.He and his wife Dorothea have a multi-acre river-front spread in the sleepy but swanky town of Red Bank, New Jersey, and a large house on one of the most notable and costly streets in East Hampton, New York, that they plucked up in August 2004 for $7.6m.Jon has been on tour with his band Bon Jovi, but on Tuesday the playing came to a halt in Mexico City when his drummer Tico Torres was forced to have an emergency appendectomy. Concert dates have been rescheduled. The band hits the road again on September 20 when they perform in Rio De Janeiro. In June the band was estimated by Forbes to be worth approximately $79m. Their recent Because We Can Tour earns $3m per city, a massive number in the touring circuit. Bon Jovi has been making more money than Kanye West, Jennifer Lawrence and Rafael Nadal combined, according to the publication.Jon gives back with Soul Kitchen, a pay as you want restaurant in New Jersey.
